Xamphur Fight Overview – A Battle of Wits and Agility
**NOTE: You have to kill The Whisperer 50 times before gaining access to Xamphur!**
Xamphur is unlike any boss you’ve faced before. Forget straightforward auto-attacks – Xamphur introduces a whole new level of complexity, using environmental hazards and sinister corruption mechanics to keep players on their toes. Survival depends on agility, fast reflexes, and strategic thinking. Can you dodge the ghostly hands and venomous attacks, or will Xamphur’s corruption overwhelm you?
Battle in the Enclosed Arena
The battle takes place in a tightly defined arena, with boundaries set at coordinates (3025, 5925) to (3039, 5943). There’s no escaping – you must stand your ground, maneuver carefully, and fight smart.
Phase 1: Ghostly Hands – The Magic of Despair
- Attack Type: Magic
- Distance: Xamphur casts from up to 10 tiles away, ensuring no place is safe in the arena.
- Frequency: Every 1.8 seconds, ghostly hands appear beneath your feet. Move fast or suffer 10-25 damage!
- Corruption Mechanic: Beware – if you’re hit, there’s a 50% chance you’ll be afflicted with Lesser Corruption, slowly draining your prayer points over time.
Phase 2: Falling Hand – The Ranged Assault
- Attack Type: Ranged
- Distance: Xamphur’s hand targets players within 10 tiles.
- Frequency: Every 3.6 seconds.
- Special Mechanic: Similar to the Corporeal Beast’s boulder, Xamphur summons a deadly falling hand. Fail to move in time, and you’ll be inflicted with venom, dealing 18 damage per hit until cured.
Master the Mechanics, or Fall to Corruption
Corruption is Xamphur’s most dangerous tool. If you’re hit by the Ghostly Hands, Lesser or Greater Corruption will drain your prayer points at a rapid rate. vigilance is key.
Strategy: Constant movement is your best defense. Manage your prayer points carefully, bring anti-venom potions to counteract the Falling Hand, and stay alert. You might even get lucky with an auto-retaliate counter during Ghostly Hands!
The Whisperer Fight Overview – Master of Shadows and Souls
Enter the dark and mysterious world of The Whisperer. This boss challenges players with alternating magic and ranged attacks, combined with deadly special mechanics like the Soul Siphon and Screech. As you battle through multiple phases, you’ll need to balance protection, quick movements, and precise timing. Can you outsmart The Whisperer, or will her soul-draining powers bring you to your knees?
The Shadow Arena – A Tight Battlefield
The Whisperer’s lair is confined to coordinates (2624, 6336) to (2687, 6399). Staying within the arena is crucial to avoid getting overwhelmed by her relentless attacks. Every step could mean the difference between life and death!
Phase 1: Unrelenting Ranged and Magic Attacks
- Attack Types: Alternates between magic and ranged, forcing players to switch prayers frequently.
- Distance: The Whisperer can attack from up to 40 tiles away, meaning no one is out of range.
- Attack Pattern: Three bursts of attacks with incremental delays. Stay on your toes and be ready to change prayers!
- Damage: Unprotected players will take 1-5 damage per hit. Auto-retaliate can help counter the incoming attacks.
Phase 2: The Deadly Splash Attack
Periodically, The Whisperer unleashes a devastating Splash Attack, targeting players with a cross-patterned area of effect. Players who fail to move will suffer 25-50 damage & 30 sanity drain. Quick movement is your only salvation.
Phase 3: Soul Siphon – A Test of Willpower
- Trigger: Occurs at health thresholds of 50,000, 25,000, and 10,000 HP.
- Mechanic: The Whisperer teleports to the center of the arena and summons Lost Souls. Each soul chants a specific phrase, and players must eliminate them to disable her invulnerability.
Lost Souls and Their Effects:
- Vita!: Heals the player by 20 HP when killed.
- Oratio!: Restores 20 prayer points when killed.
- Sanitas!: Restores sanity points (though sanity isn’t a factor in this fight).
- Mors!: Deals 50 damage to The Whisperer when killed.
Once all souls are vanquished, The Whisperer takes 75 damage and her vulnerability returns. Be quick, or risk facing her wrath.
Phase 4: Screech – A Scream of Devastation
When The Whisperer reaches 5,000 HP, she releases a terrifying Screech, dealing 50 damage to all players and healing herself for 20% of her max health. Be prepared, because this scream can turn the tide of battle if you aren’t ready.
Sanity Mechanic – Keeping Your Mind Intact
Throughout the battle with The Whisperer, sanity is your lifeline. If your sanity reaches zero, you will immediately die. Managing sanity is just as important as managing health or prayer.
- Sanity Drain: Various mechanics, like the Splash Attack and Tentacles, drain sanity by 10% to 30%, depending on the hit.
- Instant Death: If your sanity reaches 0, you lose control and instantly die.
- Restoring Sanity: Sanitas! Lost Souls in the Soul Siphon phase restore sanity, giving you a critical chance to reset your sanity bar during the fight.
Stay vigilant! If you allow your sanity to drain too far, The Whisperer’s relentless attacks will overwhelm you. Keep an eye on your sanity levels and use the Sanitas! Lost Souls to keep yourself in the fight.
Fight Strategy – Outsmarting The Whisperer
Players must master protection prayer switching, stay mobile to dodge Splash Attacks, and manage their positioning during the Soul Siphon phase. Prioritize eliminating Lost Souls to weaken The Whisperer and ensure victory. The Vita! and Oratio! souls offer much-needed healing and prayer restoration, so focus on them when needed.
